I recently purchased a huge table from a friend. It is sort of like something you would see on the Walton's. It is very dark brown. Can that be completely taken off and made a lighter color. I need to know from an expert because it is too nice to ruin, but way too dark for my large country kitchen. Please advise. Thank you, Marla Conrad
