Hi folks,

I'm looking at buying some outdoor furnishings, made from Nyatoh wood,
and I noticed some comments and earlier questions.

Could anyone please clarify a couple of things for me about Nyatoh:
1) Is the weathering to a grey finish inevitable, even with regular
coatings? With regular protection, how many years would it take for the
greyness to occur? Can anything be done to retain the initial redish
coloration?
2) When it weathers, does the wood develop splinters, such that sanding
is needed...or does it stay smooth
3) What is the enemy ? - the sun or the rain
4) I notice references to Nyatoh being susceptible to pests - is that a
likely problem in Nth. California, with outdoor furniture? Or is this only
an issue in construction using Nyatoh?

Many thanks
Kris
