Hi, I'm in the process of stripping the doors, windows and trim throughtout my home, fortunately the paint was pretty fresh and i've no lead-based paint to deal with. The house is circa 1930 and has beautiful word work. I've found that a heat gun has been most useful, though when turned to high, "melts" the paint into the wood. Like someone else, i've tried the water based solvents and they are too much work with too little progress, especially if you've got as much wood as I. My best experience has been with a variety of scrappers, the heat gun and then follow up with "Goof-off" It generally takes a few times to clean off all the residue but i've not had to sand and refinish anything yet. Best of luck, if you find a better method, please let me kow.
