Hi Bill;
Well I have both, a radial arm saw and a table saw, I bought the radial arm saw in 1975 and never regreted the move, except that it was a medium duty saw and now I would like a heave duty one. I was told be some that if you are only going to buy one saw, buy the radial arm saw for it is versitile.
Well I would do it again, and depending in what you do in carpentry, the radial saw is better if you only have one, My saw is a Craftsman, and the table saw is a professional craftsman, I am very satisfied with both.
