Weatherproofing outdoor furniture

We just bought nice outdoor furniture (Nyatoh wood), which will discolor naturally to a silver grey - like Teak, I guess.
They recommend to apply Teak Oil once a year to slow down that color change.
I would like to keep that nice redish tone that it has right now - is there more that I should do than apply once a year that Teak Oil?

Thanks.
